Sending an LOA

[vc_column_text]An LOA or “Letter of Authority to Act” allows us to act on behalf of the client in seeking to access documentation associated with an account or when negotiating payments for a debt. This is a key step in the Negotiations process as, without an LOA, you cannot speak to a Credit Provider.

You will need to send LOA’s from time to time and, as such, it’s important you know where to find them and how to send them on.

We will start with “Sending an LOA to a client” so we can receive their signed consent to act on their behalf. This will be instrumental in reaching out to CP’s or “Credit Providers” later. Before you start sending, however, it’s critical that you check to make sure the client has the following information is entered in;

  • Drivers Licence Number
  • Date of Birth
  • Address

If the client does not have this information entered in, you will need to do it yourself. If the client has no ID associated with their Contact you will need to reach out to a DA or Admin person to get it for you.

Take the time to watch the below video, which will walk you through how to send the LOA to the client and how to tell when it’s been signed.[/vc_column_text][vc_video link=”https://vimeo.com/641466458/f05e020a0f”][vc_column_text]Below is a video explaining how clients sign an LOA. While you may never have to do this, it’s important to understand how clients sign these documents should you need to explain or guide someone through the process;[/vc_column_text][vc_video link=”https://vimeo.com/483387170/1be4de1946″][vc_column_text]Now that you’ve watched the video on how to send an LOA to a Client, you will need to watch the below video on how to send an LOA to a CP.

This is the beginning of the “Credit Disclosure” process, where we attempt to obtain documentation from the Credit Provider that we can then use as leverage when negotiating with the CP. When sending an LOA to a CP, you need to ensure you attach;

  • A signed copy of the LOA
  • The Clients Drivers Licence (front and back)

With those, you can send the relevant email to the CP to begin the CD or Credit Disclosure process. Watch the below to see this process in depth.[/vc_column_text][vc_video link=”https://vimeo.com/483387486/51f494d21a”][/vc_column][/vc_row]
